Plano Balloon Festival
Tavis & I went to the Plano Balloon Festival Friday night (9/16) for the first time, and saw the "Balloon Glow". All the balloons are lit up without lifting off. And, they let everybody on the field to walk around among the balloons. It was really cool to walk right up to the huge balloons, and feel how hot the "air" was that filled the balloons. Maybe next year we'll try to make a launch!

Jon and Nick visit
Jon came home on leave for a couple weeks. Nick made a suprise weekend visit, so all of us got to spend a little time together. Both have returned to their bases now, but here are a few pictures taken during their visit.

Shadow Goes To A Pool Party!
On Saturday, the Rosemeade Rec Center pool was opened up to a dog party. We took Shadow over - didn't know how she would do. She was around more dogs and people than she's ever seen before, but she did real well - didn't try to bite or even bark at anyone.
She was reluctant to get in the water at first, but we took it slow and she walked into the baby pool. After a while, she got to where her little legs couldn't touch anymore and she was swimming around. I think she enjoyed being in the water (it was nice and cool) but just wasn't to sure about the swimming part.
We had an old water-proof camera (the film expired in 2000) and took some pictures - surprisingly they turned out, but maybe a bit grainy and bright.
Everyone was having fun until somebody's dog pooped in the pool. We had to get out while they cleaned it (or spread it around enough that you couldn't see it anymore). We walked around for a while and Shadow was ready to leave. The last shot is shadow blow drying her hair on the ride home.
